About Exam
This is admission test for NITs, IIITs, Other Centrally Funded Technical Institutions, Institutions funded by participating State Governments, and other Institutions shall include the performance in the class 12/equivalent qualifying Examination and in the Joint Entrance Examination, JEE (Main). The Paper-1 (B. E./B. Tech.) of JEE (Main) will also be an eligibility test for the JEE (Advanced), which the candidate has to take if he/she is aspiring for admission to the undergraduate programmes offered by the IITs.
Examination Pattern
Examination will be conducted in fully computer based test mode two times in a year. The exam consists of one papers of three hours' duration. Best of two papers score is considered for All India Rank (AIR)
Eligibility
For appearing in the JEE (Main) - 2023, there is no age limit for the candidates. The candidates who have passed the class 12/equivalent examination in 2021, 2022, or appearing in 2023 irrespective of their age can appear in JEE (Main) – 2023 examination. However, the candidates may be required to fulfill the age criteria of the Institute(s) to which they are desirous of taking admission.
Cut-off for JEE Main (2023)
JEE Main 2023 cut-off has been released by the NTA along with JEE Main (2023) results. The below table shows the category-wise JEE Main 2023 Cut-off of the NTA Score for JEE Advanced 2023 based on B.E./B. Tech (Paper 1).

JEE Main Cut-off Types
The JEE Main cut-off is of two types. First, there is the JEE Main qualifying cut-off which is released by the NTA. Secondly, there is the JEE Main 2022 admission cut-off which is released by the Joint Seat Allocation Authority (JoSAA) on behalf of the participating institutes. JEE Main 2022 qualifying cut-off is the minimum score that candidates should achieve in the entrance exam to appear for JEE Advanced 2022. On the other hand, JEE Main 2022 admission cut-off is the minimum mark that candidates should meet for seeking admission to NITs, IIITs, CFITs and other participating government or private institutes.
